A full roof replacement means stripping the old roofing material down to the deck, repairing or replacing damaged decking, installing new underlayment and flashing, and laying new shingles, metal, or tile. It's a bigger job than a repair or a re-roof-over-existing-layers, and it's the right call once a roof is past patching, whether from age, storm damage, or widespread leaks. Valdosta's mix of summer thunderstorms, hail, and occasional tropical系统 (tropical storm remnants moving up from the Gulf) puts real wear on roofs here, so local experience with wind-rated shingles and proper flashing detail matters more than it would in a milder climate.
We list 34 roof replacement contractors serving the Valdosta area, ranging from small local crews to larger regional operations. Before you hire, look for a current Georgia contractor license, proof of liability and workers' comp insurance, a written estimate that breaks down materials and labor, and a manufacturer certification if you want a strong shingle warranty. Ask how they handle decking repairs found mid-tear-off and get the payment schedule in writing before work starts.
Our scoring weighs licensing and insurance verification, review volume and rating consistency, how long a business has operated locally, and responsiveness to customer feedback. It's built to surface contractors who do consistent work, not just the ones with the biggest ad budget. See the full ranked list of Valdosta roofing contractors for how each business scored, and read our methodology page for the full breakdown of how we calculate it.
